The event won’t be one to miss, with both men’s and women’s teams coming off of historical seasons at Salisbury.

In 2014, the men recorded a 21-8 overall record, winning the Capital Athletic Conference Championship for the first time in 18 years. Along with claiming the conference title, the team also made it into the NCAA tournament where they advanced to the second round.

“These guys will look back 20 years from now and just remember how special the moment was,” former SU coach Josh Merkel said after the team’s victory.

It was a similar story for the women’s team who also won the CAC championship after holding a 28-3 overall record in 2014. The women made it all the way to the Sectional Final round of the NCAA tournament where they lost to Montclair State.

It marked the first time since 1992 both teams had won their conference in the same season.

Midnight Madness will also be the first time fans can see the teams in action since last playing in early March.

Although several players are returning, both teams are welcoming new faces to the maroon and gold.

The most notable member joining the Sea Gulls is newly hired men’s head coach Andrew Sachs, who replaces Merkel after four seasons.

Sachs will be introduced at the beginning of the event on Wednesday, and looks to pick up right where Merkel left off.

Those in attendance will be eligible to win a free flat-screen television, along with having the chance to compete with their friends and Salisbury players.

Get excited about the SU basketball season, and come out and support the teams.
