For students who have already zipped around Salisbury in a Zipcar and for students who are looking to, there is a new opportunity to win a free ride.
Zipcar has partnered with over 500 universities across North America to celebrate March Madness and give college students a chance to win big just like their favorite NCAA teams.
All students have to do is take a creative video of a trick shot with a basketball hoop. Upload the video on Instagram with the hashtags #Zipmadness and #contest.
Participants will have the chance of winning free Zipcar for a week and a $100 giftcard to ’47 Athletic Apparel.
“Zipcar wanted to have a really fun Instagram contest to rally around March Madness that allows students to get involved in the tournament in their own unique way,” Lindsay Wester, public relations manager for Zipcar, said.
This contest gives students who are not familiar with Zipcar a chance to learn more about the car service.
Zipcar is an alternative to car ownership that reduces the hassle and cost of owning a car on a college campus. Various vehicles are located all over campus to provide a ride whenever needed.
Students with a viable license just have to register online and wait to receive their Zipcar card in the mail. The card unlocks any car a student reserves.
Since Zipcar made its first appearance on SU’s campus last semester, students have taken notice to the benefits it presents.
Julian Nelson-Saunders, a sophomore, has used Zipcar three different times this year.
“It’s cheaper than getting a car, you get free gas and insurance, its 24/7 service and you always have a guaranteed parking spot on campus,” Nelson-Saunders said. “I like how I always get a different car every time I use it and it’s always clean and fueled up.”
#Zipmadness ends on April 4.
